Library Curriculum

The Camanche High School library staff works with teachers and students to develop literacy skills.
Below are our areas of focus.

  • Student is a competent and self-motivated reader.
  • Student selects fiction and non-fiction based on interest, need, and reading level.
  • Student connects ideas to personal interests and previous knowledge and experience.
  • Student applies critical thinking skills when reading, viewing, and listening.
  • Student responds to literature and other creative expressions of information in varied formats.

  • Student identifies a variety of potential sources of information.
  • Student develops and uses successful strategies for locating information.
  • Student uses technology effectively to locate information.
  • Student uses a variety of print and electronic tools to find information.
  • Student determines accuracy, relevance, authority, and suitability of resources.
  • Student selects and records information relevant to the problem or question at hand.
  • Student organizes information for practical application.
  • Student creates and communicates information and ideas in appropriate formats.
