Databases
Databases are massive collections of newspaper/ magazine/ journal articles, pictures, sounds, videos, records, etc. organized digitally. Like the web, they are searchable. Better than the web, though, because databases allow users to easily sort and filter results. Below are links to databases we have access to.
The Iowa Area Education Associations offer fourteen databases to all Iowa schools. The Camanche High user ID and password is available from the library staff. For specific information on each database, click here.
The Camanche Public Library offers a handful of additional resources for use by community members. Their databases are listed at the bottom of their homepage. They include EBSCO Host, AtoZUSA, AtoZWorld, Ancestry Library Edition, and HeritageQuest. Users need a public library card and a user ID and password to access these. Information on obtaining a library card can be found here. Ask a public library staff member for other login information.
The State Library of Iowa has over fifteen online resources available for use. Some resources are available to anyone, but many require a state library card. Users may apply for a library card here.
